Pakistan Freelancers Association (PAFLA) The Pakistan Freelancers Association (PAFLA) is the country’s first registered not-for-profit association dedicated to freelancers, self-employed professionals, and independent workers across all industries. Licensed by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) under Section 42, PAFLA was established with a vision to empower freelancers, create awareness, and strengthen the freelancing ecosystem in Pakistan. Mission Our mission is to support, represent, and facilitate freelancers by providing them with opportunities, resources, and partnerships that enhance their professional growth while promoting Pakistan as a global hub for freelance talent. What We Do PAFLA plays a pivotal role in: Policy Advocacy – Acting as the collective voice of freelancers to government, regulators, and industry stakeholders. Capacity Building – Conducting awareness sessions, workshops, training programs, and webinars to help freelancers upgrade their skills. Partnerships & Collaborations – Partnering with universities, banks, corporates, NGOs, and international organizations to create opportunities for freelancers. Community Development – Building a strong network of freelancers nationwide, fostering collaboration and peer-to-peer support. Financial Inclusion – Working with financial institutions to solve payment-related issues, introduce freelance-friendly banking products, and simplify account setup. Research & Representation – Publishing reports, surveys, and insights on the freelancing economy in Pakistan to inform policymakers and global stakeholders. Our Reach Partnered with 40+ organizations including banks, universities, corporates, and associations. Engaged with 20+ universities across Pakistan to conduct freelancing awareness sessions. Collaborated with global platforms like Google, Meta, Wise Platform, and development organizations such as Asian Development Bank (ADB). Actively participated in major events such as ITCN Asia, Teknofest Pakistan, Future of Work Conference, and other leading tech forums. Key Initiatives Freelancing Awareness Sessions – Free-of-cost sessions at universities and institutions to guide youth on freelancing opportunities. Banking Facilitation – Collaborations with banks to resolve account opening/payment challenges for freelancers. Research & Reports – Supported the ADB research report on Pakistan’s freelancing landscape. Women Empowerment Programs – Partnering with women-led organizations to empower female freelancers. Industry Events – Organizing and participating in conferences, webinars, and roadshows to highlight freelancing’s role in Pakistan’s economy. Vision Ahead PAFLA envisions a Pakistan where freelancers are recognized as an integral part of the economy, contributing to employment, exports, and innovation. With millions of Pakistanis engaged in freelancing, PAFLA is committed to building a sustainable ecosystem that supports them through advocacy, collaboration, and capacity building.
